This painting explores the quiet space between obligation and imagination — the moments where the mind drifts beyond routines and responsibilities toward somewhere softer, slower, and free. The coastal landscape, with its warm shoreline, bending palms, and luminous sky, reflects a longing for stillness and emotional escape amid the movement of everyday life.
Using layered acrylic textures and vibrant colour contrasts, I wanted to capture both the energy of nature and the calm that comes from stepping away, even briefly, into a dreamlike place. Between Duties and Daydreams is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that crave peace, wonder, and freedom.
